Your role will be to:

Define the problem: What have we been asked to do, what can we do, what should we do?

Reframe the problem to identify new opportunities for the client and agency.

  • Define the true nature of a client problem (decreased loyalty, category or favourability decline, new entrants, changed purchase dynamics)
  • Use research alongside business data to get to the core of the problem and bring new insight to the client brief.
  • Systemically define business, marketing, comms objectives for all projects worked on and set KPIs upfront for how they will be measured against.
  • Conduct SWOT analysis for client communications and their competitors and weave insight into the wider strategy


Insight Creation: Finding things out, filtering them, rethinking them laterally to inspire.

Conduct research and use it to create original and innovative insights that shape communications.

  • Writes frequent trend presentations for client and agency.
  • Expert knowledge of key research sources (Mintel, Social Listening, GWI, WARC, Google Analytics).
  • Provides high quality interpretation of research findings.
  • Can design and lead a workshop.
  • Quickly identifies the sources of information & insight appropriate to a client problem (existing research, behaviour change data, relevant case studies)


Set the Path: Giving inspiration, clarity & confidence to the team about what needs to be done.

Inspire people around strategic possibilities and work collaboratively to get to the right answer.

  • Use new or inspiring methods of briefing or writing of proposals.
  • Know how to brief for an idea vs. execution.
  • Can lead innovation workstreams.
  • Champion of a strategic idea with a client and through their business.
  • Creates compelling strategic responses to client problems (tissue decks, strategic responses, paths forward)


Ideation: Helping creative & other disciplines come up with better ideas, faster.

Act as an idea catalyst and develop new and innovative ways for ideas to come to life.

  • Develop and moderate creative brainstorms and workshops.
  • Ability to develop different territories and briefs teams to explore them.
  • Ensure channel/technology thinking is baked into creative strategy.
  • Proactively and consistently articulates 'The Idea' as different from 'The Execution' for creative teams.


Prototyping and Storytelling: Defining the idea, proving, communicating & selling it.

Present compelling stories in original rather than formulaic ways.

  • Can create pitch standard sell in decks and framing of ideas.
  • Can clearly articulate a creative idea and how it works.
  • Uses language and visuals that will make presentations memorable.
  • Expert at representing data in new visual ways and using it to tell a story.
  • Can build narratives to different styles of clients and adapt to different audiences.


Manifesting the Work: Crafting the experience journey and delivery detail that brings the idea to life.

Take a strategic idea and expand across owned, earned and bough media.

  • Identify and prioritise key barriers & opportunities in a user journey.
  • Create a brand / digital / social eco-system.
  • Can create a messaging framework and can write messaging hierarchies.
  • Has experience working on an integrated team (creative and media combined), and working alongside media experts to assist in crafting media plans that work in conjunction with creative strategy.
  • Can write and sell a channel plan across paid, owned, influence and earned media.
  • Can identify opportunities to optimize and evolve the creative from one campaign to the next.
  • Work in partnership with creatives to design multiple versions of assets for micro-targeting and optimisation.
  • Expert knowledge of the role of different channels and platforms, can articulate their value within an idea and help optimise ideas to work in these environments.
  • Has strong understanding of social paid media without being a social paid media expert.


Measurement and Effectiveness: Proving if, how and why the work created real value for the business and consumers.

Lead the agency teams and clients into consistently proving effectiveness on my brands.

  • Consistently sets effectiveness objectives for projects worked on and not just defines KPIs but how ideas are supposed to work to deliver on targets.
  • Expert knowledge of media results and ability to strategize how we improve creative to optimise results
  • Differentiates between helpful and unhelpful data to enable clients to appreciate its true value and relevance.
  • Can lead the writing of awards papers.


  • Fluent or very good level of Dutch
  • Fluent or very good level of English
  • Recent and relevant experience developing brand and content strategies for multi-national organisations across a range of sectors
  • Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities in a fast paced and deadline driven environment
  • Understands how Social Media platforms (Facebook, TikTok, Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.) work and keeps knowledge on current formats and tactics up to date
  • Proven experience in driving content ideas and executions
  • Ability to work with and direct junior team members ensuring they are clear on the expectation of their role / specific task
  • Ability to interact with multiple stakeholders – junior to senior, knows how to educate and convince
